So did I just learn a 30 dollar lesson about Butel software? Or am I missing something here? So now 30 bucks down the drain later, I have this Butel software which is basically worthless and I'm back to programming my scanner the old way (that works) using Scancat Lite.

So why would this software, this Butel that I just paid 30 bucks for tell me my Radio Shack Pro 96 doesn't support this analog trunked system? It does let me automatically program in from Radio Reference the State Police APCO 25 system although nothing comes over it so it apparently didn't program it too well. And the exact same system I have programmed into my Radio Shack Pro 95 Analog scanner. I can in fact program it in using ScanCat Lite with no problem, other than I have to do it manually. Yet when I try to program in the local trunked system for my area, (which isn't even digital) it tells me that the "Trunk type is not supported by your model radio", which is of course not accurate. My Radio Shack Pro 96 is a Digital Trunking APCO 25\GE\EDACS scanner. So I thought it would be nice to have the Butel which Radio Reference recommends as being able to automatically program your radio. I normally use Scancat lite, but since Radio Reference stopped supporting it I have to manually copy and paste the frequencies, etc into it. I just bought the Butel software thinking it would be nice to save time with it. Software for Whistler WS1040/WS1065 GRE PSR500 / PSR600 or Radioshack PRO-106 / PRO-197 / PRO-651 / PRO-652 Windows 7/8/10 (32 or 64 bit) Min. Can anyone help me out as the virtual control is what I wanted most out of the program because I had bought this scanner mainly to put up on RR.īutel claims my Pro 96 doesn't support trunking This PC program was developed to work on Windows XP, Windows 7 or Windows 8 and can function on 32-bit systems. The actual developer of the program is BuTel software. Our antivirus analysis shows that this download is clean.

Now here's what baffles me if I uninstall arc500pro and install arc500 demo virtual control works like a champ. ARC500PRO 1.18 is available as a free download on our software library. I have returned the scanner and gotten a new one and still have the same problem. I can upload/download to and from the scanner just fine. Order Now Before Price Up Download TRX-2 EZ Scan Software Free All other Whistler and Uniden scanners can also use BuTel ARC software and FreeSCAN You can buy >Uniden Bearcat 500. Uniden SDS200 Demo with ProScan Software. If I turn off the virtual control the scanner works fine. Note your scanner should be powered on The new Uniden ubc125xlt is a compact 500 channel. The scanner will stop on a hit, get 2 words of conversation then a beep and the scanner will resume scanning. I then reinstalled arc500pro and got the same results. Here's what I did to try to solves the problem, uninstalled arcpro, did a cold boot up, cleaned the registry, and cold booted again. When I use virtual control the scanner will stop on a signal as it should, but I’ll only get 1 or 2 words from the conversation then a beep then the scanner resumes scanning. Again it would be excellent IF the receiver had a 3 KHz bandwidth for LSB and USB.Seem to having a problem with ARC500pro and the virtual control. Here the actual receiver only allows 1.8 and 2.6 KHz. Next is with the LSB and USB modes, the ARC DV1 software allows IF bandwidth settings of 1.8, 2.6 AND 3 KHz. Now wouldn’t be nice if AOR allowed 8 KHz bandwidth in the SAL and SAH modes, as the 2 provided are just too narrow to be of any use. Of course the receiver allow allows for only 3.8 and 5.5 KHz. The Butel ARC DV1 “basic” software allows settings in the SAL and SAH modes for IF bandwidths of 3.8, 5.5 AND 8 KHz.
#BUTEL ARC 500 DEMO DRIVER#
Using the latest version 1.2 build 01 and the AR-DV1 has the latest V1812A firmware installed.įirst thing I noticed was the USB driver that Butel includes (located in the program directory after installation) are WRONG ! They include the “ftdi” ones here and of course as all AR-DV1 owners know, it uses the Silicon Labs one. Only desired software to program the radio (not for any CAT operation).

Purchased the full version of the ARC DV1 software “Basic Version”. We attempted to communicate directly with Gommert on this, but he gave no reply so will try here for answers and input.
